A guide for voters who want to see pay equity restored.

Kristine's List is named in honour of Kristine Bartlett, the Wellington aged care worker and 2018 New Zealander of the Year whose case, Terranova, first confirmed that equal pay law could address the undervaluation of women's work for whole workforces.

Ahead of the 2026 General Election, PECA wrote to every political party asking them to commit to the speedy reversal of the Equal Pay Amendment Act 2025 — which extinguished 34 legitimate pay equity claims affecting more than 180,000 people — and to restore and fund the 2020 Equal Pay Amendment Act.

Kristine's List will publish each party's answer: yes or no. It won't tell voters who to vote for. It will show which candidates and parties have committed to restoring pay equity, and which voted for the 2025 rollback — so voters can choose for themselves. PECA's message: Vote Pay Equity.

Responses are due 8 October 2026, when the list will be published.
